Brothers First Tuesday (Day 5) Box Office Collections: Steady
Brothers went down a bit on Tuesday at India Box office
Brothers Fifth Day Box Office Collections:
4.8 Crore ( Trade Figure)
5.11 Crore ( Producer Figure)
5.11 Crore ( Producer Figure)
Total till date:
60.01 Crore nett ( Trade Figure)
Records:60.01 Crore nett ( Trade Figure)
63.42 Crore nett ( Producer Figure)
On Its First Tuesday Brothers went down by around 9% as compared to its First Monday.
Brothers will put up a good first week total because of teh opening but will struggle thereafter. Goof thing for Brothers is that it has a weak opposition week 2 which should help it sustain.
Brothers had content which was targeted at multiplexes but opened better at single screens and mass areas which are Akshay Kumar strongholds.
Basically it seems that while Akshay Kumar pulled the movie to a good opening but the content has not helped in gaining the multiplexes and top cities markets which were crucial for the movie.
Akshay Kumar seems also to be struggling with metros and multiplexes market where most of his movies are not opening well
Budget: 82 Crore All inclusive
With brothers what most exhibitors have been reporting that while youth have flocked the cinemas and have given the opening the families have stayed away from the movie.
Mostly most of the trade has been complaining is that movie is too gruesome and thus have alienated the female audiences and the family.
While appeal to youth ensures that movie takes an opening it is the family audiences which ensures that movie has a longer run which is missing here.
Another aspect which is surprising to trade is that Brothers is a remake of Warrior and Warrior though was a critically acclaimed movie but was a disaster at the box office.
If you are buying rights and remaking the movie than at least invest in a commercially viable project is the refrain being heard in trade
