Yet another miraculous achievement by the latest Telugu blockbuster, Srimanthudu. The Superstar of Tollywood, Mahesh Babu has edged past the biggest mass star in the Indian cinema, Superstar Rajinikanth at the US box-office. As per the official figures by the popular US collection tracker Rentrack, Srimanthudu collected a huge $2.429,412 in its 9 day run.
Earlier, Rajinikanth's Enthiran (Robo) collected $2,408,824 in the US and stood in the top position among the south films in America. These were the cumulative collections of Robo's Tamil and Telugu versions in the US. However, Rajamouli's magnum opus Baahubali has surpassed Robo's collections with an unreachable $7 million plus collections.
With this phenomenal feat, Srimanthudu is next only to Baahubali, and US being Superstar's royal fort, Srimanthudu looks all set to enter the $3 million club. Meanwhile in the Telugu states, Srimanthudu has surpassed the previous blockbusters like Race Gurram and Gabbar Singh and stood in all time top 4th position with close to 61 crore share.
With the film still raking in decent shares from allover, Srimanthudu is expected to easily out do Atharintiki Dharedhi and Magadheera and secure the all-time second highest grosser honour.
