Still it is one of top 5 openings for an Hollywood movie in India though much lower than the top one fast and furious 7
Mission Impossible 5 also had nearly 6 times higher than the collections of hindi release Bangistan which had a poor first day with just 1 crore in collections
Earlier:
Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible 5 is off to a good start at India Box Office.
It has opened at 30% all over India which is way higher than Hindi Release the Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat starrer Bangistan which got an opening of only 10%.
However the box office collections of Mission Impossible 5 will be hit in its major market Andhra/ Telangana due to release of Srimanthudu which is a major release.
For all the major hollywood movies Karnataka, Andhra and Tamil Nadu have been the biggest market outside of Delhi and Mumbai.
Mission Impossible 5 had a one week delayed release in India to prevent a clash with Ajay devgan's Drishyam and to have screen space but that one week delay will cause a screen crunch in Anhdra instead.
Mission Impossible is a brand in India and Tom Cruise is very popular here with even the last film in the franchise doing well in India but the opening is not at same levels as a Fast and Furious 7 or even Avengers.
Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation has also opened worldwide and has already grossed $139.74 Million Worldwide including a weekend topping $56 Million in USA.
Mission 5 has now grossed $74 Million in USA
MI5 has a budget of $150 Million
