As the magnum opus stormed into 200 crore club in a record time, with 215 crores of gross collection in 5 days, 'Baahubali' still continues to ring alarms in trade circuits. In USA, till date no film has managed to collect 5 million dollars in 5 days and Baahubali has done it, while Aamir Khan's PK earlier managed 4.5 million dollars approx in same time.
Late in the night, director Ram Gopal Varma has stunned everyone by tweeting that the Part II of Rajamouli's superior creation got sold out. He stated that Baahubali-2 was sold for 325 crores to a leading corporate giant. This looks a possibility if the makers have sold whole of Baahubali, both the two parts, but selling a single part at that price looks fishy. Trade pundits however felt that the craze and collection spree of Baahubali-1 might impress corporate giants to buy Baahubali-2 at 300+ crores price bracket if they were given total theatrical rights in India and international circuits.
Is this a Vodka talk or a sharing the truth out in an inebriated condition? This is what many get flashed in their minds after reading that tweet of Ram Gopal Varma. Anyway, if an Corporate invests such a mammoth amount for Baahuabli-2, then in the near future quality of Telugu films will be upped to a new level provided with the backing of these corporate investments.
