The famous Bhojpuri writer and TV Journalist Manoj Bhawuk has been appointed as the creative consultant of Mahua Plus, the most famous Bhojpuri TV channel. He will also be seen as one of the judges of the popular TV show, Bhauji No. 1. Taking up this new responsibility with a great zeal and enthusiasm, Manoj in his new avatar expresses his boundless happiness by saying, “I am pleased by this new role. We are now with the most popular and successful brand of Bhojpuri channel and I hope to bring something new, innovative, creative and more entertaining shows for the audience. Theme may be old, but the way and mannerism would be all new.”
Manoj is a specialist in Bhojpuri literature and Encyclopedia of Bhojpuri cinema. He is a poet and film-critic too. He has acted in many Bhojpuri movies. He also did research on the history of Bhojpuri-cinema and participated as a literary specialist and an active debater in several TV shows and programs all around the country and abroad like in Mauritius, Nepal, Africa and Great Britain. His achievements are far too many to list in a single article. These are the qualities that made this gem precious enough to be given such a responsible job of creative consultant.
Prior to joining Mahua Plus, he has worked as an Executive Producer in “Anjan TV”. During the three years of his service there, he made some very special programs for some of the Bhojpuri-legends like Bhikhari Thakur, Rajendra Prasad and Bismillah Khan. He also made a documentary, “Bhojpuri Cinema” on the long journey of Bhojpuri Cinema. He also wrote for a crime based show, “Gunehgar”. Lately, he wrote a song for the “Celebrity Cricket League” which kept resounding in the stadium throughout the tournament. He also penned down the title song of the channel and some other songs and poems with funny and humor-touch for the current affairs of ‘Chatkhara News’.
He also Produced and Anchored many successful shows like Batkahi (a chat-show with celebrities), Chah-Garam ( Musical show ), Box-Office (Movie-reviews), Kaise kahin (a health-show) and Kavyanjali (kavi sammelan in studio )”. He was the man behind the titles, Promos, Teasers, Title- songs, Planning and content design of the shows. In a nutshell, he has become a one-man production-team for many TV shows.
A brief introduction of his journey till now: A topper (1996-98) of Bihar Art Theatre, Kalidas Rangalaya, Manoj started his career working as a freelancer for Patna Doordarshan and several other newspapers. The year 1998 witnessed his talent of versatile acting for the first time in the TV serial, “Sanchi Prirtiya”. In 1999, he contributed to a TV serial, “Tohre Se Ghar Bsaiyeb” as a screenplay writer, dialogue and song writer. Both the serials were aired on Patna Doordarshan, and were a big hit, earning him a huge name in the industry.
After giving his eminent service in so many projects, he joined ‘Hamar TV’ as a ‘Programming Head’ in 2008 and there He was instrumental in planning, designing and launching the Hamar tv. He Produced, Scripted and Anchored many shows based on films, literature, music, fashion, gossips, career, health and folk-stories. In addition to these works, he also gave his service for the successful projects on vivid and unavoidable subjects like sex and domestic behavior.
