The story of this movie starts in this era. Vijay was born in a poor family but he was adopted by a big business man in that village. He pursues higher studies and fight sequences. In the mean time, he falls in love with Shruti Haasan but some goons kill her due to some issues.
So, Vijay was upset with this and he attempts a suicide and jumps from a mountain. But, the people from Sudeep’s kingdom saves him. Actress Sridevi and Hansika are the mother and sister of Sudeep.
Vijay (Puli) wins against Sudeep in many battles and proves his talent in their kingdom. Hansika falls in love with Vijay, but, he rejects her love. Knowing their love affair, Sudeep tries to kill Vijay and finally, he kills Vijay.
Sridevi has some magical powers and with them, she can know the things that happened in the past but the only problem is she cannot return to the present, when she went into the past.
In the meantime, she came to know that Vijay is his real son not Sudeep. What she will do now? What is the past of Vijay? Forms the rest of the story.
